On behalf of the St. Mary's School Board I would like to welcome you to our web site. This is an increasingly important venue for information about our school, its educational program and our school and community-based activities.
For more than fifty years, St. Mary's has been providing a nurturing environment for children one that provides a consistent moral compass, allows them to excel academically and to grow into the people that God intends them to be. We believe that St. Mary's provides important texture in the lives of our children, and sets a foundation for their future academic and personal growth.
St. Mary's School Board is an advisory board to the Pastor composed of parishioners, parents and alumni who are committed to ensuring that the school has the resources and community perspective necessary to support the faculty and administration in providing the highest level of Catholic education. We offer advice and counsel based on our personal experience and professional backgrounds that seek to inform policies and programs at the school.
The School Board meets bi-monthly beginning in September (dates and times are included on the school calendar), and we welcome your attendance. We function through a committee structure that is intended to offer a chance to consider issues in-depth. Use the School Board Committee Assignments & Expectations tab for more information about each committee. Committees of the School Board include:
Parish Relations/Catholic Identity
Building and Facilities
In addition to attending meetings of the School Board, we welcome active participation with our Advancement, Strategic Planning, Parish Relations and Building and Facilities committees.
We encourage you to be active in our school, and to participate in the many activities that will give you a glimpse into the excellent job being done by our dedicated teachers and staff. Like most private schools today, we depend on parent volunteers to supplement the work of our staff with your time, talent and treasure. Throughout the year there will also be opportunities to interact with other parents through social events.
The decision to enroll your child in St. Mary's comes with trust, faith and sacrifice. As a Board, we believe that a school is more than a mission statement and a collection of classrooms; it's a place where we send our children to learn and to grow.
I encourage you to contact me or any other member of the School Board with any questions, comments or suggestions, and I sincerely hope that you will be an active member of our school community.
Thank you for your interest in St. Mary's School.
